Gui Von StreberVisiting Assistant Professor, Spanish

Biography

Gui Von Streber earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish at Lee University in Cleveland, TN. As an undergraduate, he focused his studies on sociolinguistics and language teaching methodologies. He earned his Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from Emory University in 2023. 

His research interests are mainly in qualitative sociolinguistics—specifically in language policy, language ideologies, linguistic ethnographies—language pedagogy, and modern Latin American History. At Emory, Gui has taught ‘Introduction to Hispanic Cultures and Spanish Language’, ‘Intermediate Spanish II’, and co-taught the senior course ‘Spanish in the United States’ for the Spanish & Linguistics program.
