Biography

Robert Goddard (B.A. Oberlin College, 1984; Ph.D. Emory University, 2005) works on Caribbean nationalism, specifically the links between creole ideologies and sugar capitalism, and has written on these themes for Agricultural History, the Journal of Caribbean History and a number of edited volumes. Dr. Goddard was born and raised in Barbados and, prior to coming to Atlanta, he worked in the region as an economic and political journalist hosting regular programs on Voice of Barbados radio and Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation TV.
