Persephone Hernandez-Vogt began teaching at Emory in August 2021 while completing a Ph.D. in Spanish at the University of Michigan, where they are a proud member of the Graduate Employees’ Organization. Persephone’s research focuses on early modern Spanish literature, with an emphasis on women’s literature, queer theory, and ecocriticism. When not teaching Spanish, Persephone enjoys cooking, reading zines, and working on a clemency campaign.
