Guilherme Von Streber
Gui Von Streber earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish at Lee University in Cleveland, TN. As an undergraduate, he focused his studies on sociolinguistics and language teaching methodologies. He is currently a candidate in the Ph.D. program in Interdisciplinary Hispanic Studies at Emory University. His research interests are mainly in qualitative sociolinguistics—specifically in language policy, language ideologies, linguistic ethnographies—language pedagogy, and modern Latin American History. At Emory, Gui has taught ‘Introduction to Hispanic Cultures and Spanish Language’, ‘Intermediate Spanish II’, and co-taught the senior course ‘Spanish in the United States’ for the Spanish & Linguistics program. Gui is currently conducting ethnographic fieldwork in Asuncion, Paraguay that will culminate with the writing of his doctoral dissertation.
